Maximize Your Use of TikTok Shopping

Have you noticed that you can now shop on TikTok? So how do you maximize your use of TikTok as a product based business? Here’s everything you need to know.

TikTok has made it easier for brands to connect with creators through this feature. You can now create an entire store front (just like Instagram) on your TikTok account allowing users to shop directly from your page. TikTok has integrated with Shopify directly so you can link the two together and immediately have your catalog of products in your shop tab.

The best part? TikTok doesn’t share content with only your current followers first like Instagram does, it shares the content with those who are interested. This means that creators not only leverage their existing followers but they also can easily tap into new audiences (as long as the content produced is interesting) so it can be easier to get seen by new customers.

TikTok has millions, if not billions, of users monthly across the world. Twenty-five percent of those users say that they research and/or buy a product after they see it on the platform (take a moment to think about how many people 25% of a billion really are).

Who can use TikTok shopping?

As of September 2021, merchants in the US and the UK have been granted access to use this feature, the only catch is that their store has to be hosted on Shopify. Remember, this is a TikTok and Shopify partnership.

Now finally…

How to maximize your use of TikTok shopping?

  1. Tell your audience about your shop. Get creative and use trending sounds and videos to let your viewers know that they can now shop directly through TikTok.

  2. Work with influencers. This is one that many are afraid to do but can bring the highest results. Find influencers to share your products in creative ways on the platform. Gift them with a product, pay them for the posts, offer commission, do whatever works best for both your business and them.

  3. Make sure your store is presentable. Think about your online store as a physical store. You want the product (even if it’s just a digital image) to capture a potential customers attention immediately. Take branding photos that show what your product is and makes them want to try it too.

  4. Make videos with a CTA to shop your store. You can tag products in your videos as well for more organic reach.
